Donut Shop Robber With A Conscience Returns Money

Meet Alex Holmes.

17 Year old Alex decided to rob a Dunkin Donuts located in Hinsdale, Illinois at 3:05 AM Tuesday morning. Holmes allegedly walked into the store through an unlocked back door carrying a handgun, ordered the female clerk to empty the cash register, then fled again out a back door with $167, according to Hinsdale police.

Pretty routine so far...

Then, early Wednesday morning, Alex showed up again at the Dunkin Donuts. He approached the same clerk and placed a stack of money on the counter with a hand-written note apologizing for taking the money the morning before, police said. "I'm sorry I took your money, ma'am," it says. "I truly apologize. I shouldn't have done it."

Then Alex took a walk into the bizarre. He asked the clerk if he could give her a hug. She refused and backed away. He left on his bike.

Unfortunately for Alex, there are security cameras inside this particular Dunkin Donuts. Alex was arrested a few hours later. The pistol Alex allegedly carried during the holdup was discovered to be a pellet gun.

Alex was charged with felony aggravated robbery and remains jailed on $75,000 bond.

And he never got a hug...
